Eikō Harada
is a Japanese business executive. He is the representative director and president of McDonald's Holdings Company (Japan), Ltd. as well as president and chief executive officer of McDonald's Company (Japan), Ltd. (paid-in capital: approximately 24 billion yen()). He is married to J-pop singer-songwriter Yumi Tanimura. Born in Sasebo, he graduated from that city's Nagasaki Prefectural Sasebo South High School, and then from Tokai University. Harada's career began at NCR Japan, Ltd. in 1972. In 1980, he joined Yokogawa Hewlett-Packard. He moved to Schlumberger Group in 1983 as a director and head of the marketing department. His next position was also in marketing at Apple Computer Japan, which he joined in 1990. Apple appointed him vice president in 1996. He left one Mac for another in 2004, joining McDonald's as vice-chairman, president and CEO. The following year, the company appointed him to his present positions. Harada wrote a book, .
